In February, 1975, Philip Areeda and Donald F. Turner published a paper in the Harvard Law Review making the case that a prerequisite for antitrust action against claims of predatory pricing should be a showing of a price below some appropriate measure of unit cost. This Areeda-Turner Rule has become the standard against which approaches to antitrust and competition policy treatment of claims of predation are compared. A Special Issue of The Review of Industrial Organization will be devoted to the Areeda-Turner Rule, on its 40th anniversary. During the one-day workshop the contributions to the Special Issue will be presented and discussed. Anyone interested is welcome to attend.
The special issue will consist of 6 contributed articles plus an introduction by the editors (Hinloopen and Martin).
